MIN. 6 MONTHS EXPERIENCE REQD
Duties / Responsibilites:
(1) To manage a caseload determined by the Team Manager.
(2) To undertake work alone and with others on complex child related cases.
(3) To participate in a duty system, which might entail operating from another site.
(4) To participate in regular supervision.
(5) To participate in team meetings.
(6) To keep case recordings accurate and up to date in a factual and informative style.
(7) To ensure all financial transactions are fully written up and accounted for.
(8) To work in accordance with the Council’s Equal Opportunities statement.
(9) To work in collaboration with staff in other statutory and voluntary agencies.
(10) To contribute to the development of the work of the Department (e.g. participation in working parties).
(11) To attend case conferences and represent the Department at formal meetings, courts, etc.
(12) To keep abreast of childcare legislation and departmental policies and procedures.
(13) To undertake other such relevant duties as required by the manager.
Other information:
Minimum of 6 months post qualification experience.
For qualified social workers:
To work as a Qualified Social Worker in the UK you must hold one of the following certificates: Dipsw (Diploma in Social Work), BASW (Bachelor of Arts in Social Work), CSS (Certificate in Social Science), CQSW (Certificate of Qualification in Social Work) or MASW (Masters in Social Work).
Since December 2004 every Qualified Social Worker in the UK must be registered with the GSCC the General Social Care Council in England, the Care Council of Wales or the Care Council of Scotland.
Candidate from Overseas:If you are a candidate with qualifications in Social Work from overseas then you first need to be GSCC verified.
